Legit Indian food. Better than San Francisco!
First time eating this style cuisine and loved it. Still sweating, but wow... Great flavor and the owner was fun to interact with.
Accidentally walked into the place, this place reminded of casual restaurants in India. Totally crowded place, wait times vary but average is 20-30 minutes but the hostess pays very good attention of each and everyone who walks through the doors. The waiting staff is excellent. Don’t expect fan and fare, the decor is dull and dimly lit, but the food is great, spicy, tangy and the meat dishes absolutely delicious. Nevertheless dishes bit pricey. Just an advise don’t try the tea here because it’s insipid.
Food was freshly made. They served quickly. Home made Chatnis/sauce were awesome. They prepare food as per your spice level. We took a pit stop which came really well for us. we will come back for sure.
I love this place. We travel from the Antelope Valley to Vacaville fairly often and:1. This place is clean2. The food is very, very good3. Friendly owners/staff.Their Chicken Tikka Masala, Samosas, Pakoras, and butter chicken are pretty top notch - especially for a place that is outside of a big city.
Good national home style Indian restaurant. Respectfull service. But Holly Cow how spicy is their Mild Spicy option. Anyway thank you.
Food is very tasty. Authentic Punjabi menu. Staff is very friendly. Toilets are very clean. This is our go to place when driving by I-5.
Friendly staff and great vegan options (ask for the vegan menu). We had the bharta (eggplant) and vegan korma, which is rare to have as a vegan option @ most Indian restaurants, as it usually has cream and/or ghee. No vegan naan, but they had tandoori style roti. Though we just had water, they have a full bar, too. Worth stopping by if your traveling through Buttonwillow.
Authentic taste, we were unsure of the place as it was right in I-5. We were pleasantly surprised with the quality of food and their hospitality. Highly recommend this place, this is going to be our stop over place on our way to LA.
Have been stopping by here every once in a while throughout the years. Awesome food. Great service, plenty of dining space.
Very good East Indian food here, everything prepared right. The Shrimp Masala was incredible. Ordered an extra serving of garlic naan to soak up the sauce. Powerful dance mix music from India to inspire appetite. 'Old Monk 1000' beer brewed in India was influenced by British monks to the Subcontinent. Charge $15.99 for the shrimp masala with no rice. Have to pay $8 extra for it. Very strange. Great service.
Great food next to the highway. So much better than burgers. Open for dine in, yeah.
Being celiac ane driving through California, I could not have been more thankful for this restuarant. Not only was it safe for my body but it was DELICIOUS! Please go support this bysiness!
Good, clean place with courteous staff. The bathrooms are clean and stocked with paper napkins. We had seen this place multiple times from the I-5 on our way to San Francisco or LA, but always had a doubt. Stopped once out of necessity and were proven wrong about our earlier doubts. We found the place clean and the food awesome. Have attached some pictures of the interior. It's a nice compartmentalized seating for more privacy between patrons. We had a very good experience.
Tasty lamb, tea and desserts. Mild spicy is pretty spicy for a European guy. Dishes don't come with side.
absolute must try some of the best food I have ever had
Great food. Naan is well prepared. Will eat again.
Good vegan choices. The service is a little slow but the food is so different and much better if u want something that is not fast food that's your place. Definitely coming back again
This place is a great alternative to traditional highway fare. Definitely worth a visit if nothing else than to avoid fast food. Speaking of the food, it was fantastic! We ordered samosas and a variety of vegetarian dishes - nothing disappointed. Our waiter was also amazing. He was incredibly charming and very helpful with food selection.
Certainly a place worth visiting, the food is excellent and fresh, the costs are affordable and it is regularly well kept there. Keep it up.
Never again Very expensive and food was very bad not good at all.
Terrible service. We went in based on reviews. We got there at 2:25pm on Monday (President’s Day). We were seated immediately by the nice lady cleaning the tables, but as no one even approached our table to take our order for 20 mins we decided to leave. The food might be great but we didn’t get the opportunity to taste it.
Good service and delicious food I have ever tried in US
Good Indian food.
An Indian restaurant off the I-5, probably the only one for many miles. Keep this in mind and temper your expectations accordingly. It has good north Indian food, I had the laccha Paratha with saag paneer and the veggie pakora. The laccha Parathas were excellent, comparable to any good restaurant, paneer was great too. Also had the vegetarian pakora with the green chutney, have to say their green chutney was fresh and really good.
We stopped accidentally in this Place and the food was Delicious with good staff and it was really Test Of India .
Does taste of India has a standard? Do they even care? Does Federal Food Inspection even exist in California? A pathetic place, dirty, and like hell. They are cheating people. They directly ask for cash. They are hell cheat and dump. A trash place to stop. Why don’t they clean up?
We ordered chicken briyani, lamb curry, and naan. The price is reasonable with the amount of food that we received and the quality of it. If you can't handle the spiciness, choose mild or medium. The staffs are very friendly and it's said there that the restaurant is under a new management. Everyone should definitely give it a try! One of the best Indian food I've eaten so far! They also serve halal meat.
Some of the best Indian food I've had in a while! Food was not fancy, but it was delicious. The two of us ordered an okra curry, rice, a naan, one order of samosas, and one order of pakora. It would have actually been too much for us, except that we were really hungry. This will absolutely be a regular stop for us when we're on 5.
I had the chicken curry. I've not seen one so watery before. Service was tolerable, but they could have used another waitress. Food tasted alright. I will probably try it again sometime.
This place is wonderful! They have a separate vegan menu on request and the food was fantastic. The prices are reasonable and the workers are helpful and prompt. I would 100% recommend this place, especially to vegetarian or vegan travelers. It's a very casual ambiance but very worth a visit.
If you ever on a road trip from Sac/SFO to LA and crave for Indian food, this is the restaurant to go. Conveniently located right next to I-5 & setup in 'Punjabi Dhaba' style, this place offers North Indian food with good taste. The service is not so great, especially if it gets crowded. But, if you are looking for vegetarian / vegan food, then ambience / hospitality shouldn't matter. Besides, what more can one expect from a freeway side restaurant, except for decent food 🙂
Excellent north Indian style food. For people traveling from the bay area to LA, or anybody traveling from south Cal to the north, there are very few good Indian eateries on I-5 along the route. This one is very close to the interstate. It's clean and has very good quality food. Don't get surprised by the price of each item because the serving is more generous than other restaurants. The veggies in the curry were crunchier and tastier than usual. I don't know if they use some local produce. Suggestions:Tandoori chicken and other sizzler items. Kadhai chicken, Fluffy tasty garlic naanFresh orange juice. They have vegetarian options too. A word of caution. Food here is generally spicier than what I have tasted here in the USA. So medium spicy is akin to spicy at other places and mild is more like medium spicy. Tandoori chicken sizzler
Excellent food, both Vegan and Non-Vegan. I like the Chicken Biryani and Vindaloo. Atmosphere is a little Spartan since the booths have been remove. Wait staff is always engaging and friendly.
went above and beyond “not wanting to get fast food from a big chain” - Such generous portion plus perfect spice combinations, the chicken was so tender. The staff was very kind and courteous - plus eager to help me box up my leftovers. Would recommend and looking forward to coming by again!
Food is good no doubt at all. But these people are legit ripping you off with prices. butter chicken for 15.99 compare to 11.99 and rice comes free with everything and they charge 4.99. Tea is 1 or 1.50 but here 2.99. Everything is way over priced.
The people that work here are really friendly and the food was great! Will eat here again when we pass through. Not bad on prices and the water is really good. The place was really clean and so was the bathroom.
Good food while you are traveling. We asked for no garlic food and we got a really well cooked meal.
Hands down absolutely worth the stop in! Best Indian food I've had in California! The remodel looks stunning. About as authentic as you can get.
Delicious food and great vegetarian options.
First time stopping here while traveling and it was definitely worth it! The staff was very friendly and I loved that they had several vegetarian options. The food tasted authentic, homemade, and overall tasty. 1000x better than buying fast food out here.
